When it comes to book recommendations, I can't possibly have a higher opinion than I do for Tamara Allen's Whistling in the Dark. Here is my review at Amazon.com. For anyone out there who thinks my opinion actually counts for something, go and buy this book! I forgot to mention this in the review, but Lethe Press also did an outstanding job on the jazz-themed interior layout as well as a beautiful cover design. I've seen so many small press books with such shoddy interior layout, it's nice to find a publisher who makes the extra effort to give you a really professional, quality product. Bravo!

It's a wonderful book - a real crossover in terms of gay romance and just gay fiction, Mara has every reason to be proud.

hello, Mark
Thank you very much for the absolutely beautiful review. You are a sweetheart, just as much as Charlie says.:) I think it may be the most humorous review I've gotten, too. And I had to laugh about the sandwiches. You know, I never noticed it, but you're right--it does get several mentions. I guess when you don't have a lot of money, you eat a lot of sandwiches. :D

I agree with you about the interior. I was so impressed with it and I still love it. They are pros at Lethe.

You have good timing, too. Amazon has cruelly raised the price again, so if anything will help overcome that, it'll be reviews like the one you posted. Thank you.

Re: hello, Mark
I hope you don't think I was being snarky about the sandwiches. I actually was kind of amused by it. And if people don't want to pay $18, send them over to Tower where it is discounted:

Re: hello, Mark
Oh no, I know just what you meant and it made me laugh.:D It's a really sweet review and I thank you for the promotional boost.
I'm also glad to have that link. I know the book's a little cheaper at Barnes & Noble (if you're a "member" anyway) but I didn't know it was at Tower that much cheaper. I'm so used to going to Amazon for everything. Thank you, Mark.
